When can I start receiving Social Security benefits?

If you worked long enough and paid Social Security taxes, you can receive benefits:

• As early as age 62
• The first day of the month you turn 65
• At full retirement age, depending on when you were born, at the age of 65-67
• When you are found disabled by Social Security

You can also wait until you turn 70 and receive greater benefits.
