When you purchase a “Go Army, Beat Navy” specialty license plate, $25 is donated to Bay Area Legal Services to help veterans access free legal assistance. 

A minimum of 3,000 license plate vouchers must be sold before the new plate can enter production. Once the Florida DMV receives deposits for 3,000 plates, we will announce that the production threshold has been met, and voucher holders can begin redeeming their vouchers for the new plates.

Step 1

Find Your Local Tax Collector's Office

Visit your county Tax Collector’s office that handles motor vehicle services. We recommend contacting the office ahead of time to confirm they can process specialty plate voucher purchases.

Step 2

Request the “Go Army, Beat Navy” Specialty Plate Voucher

To purchase your “Go Army, Beat Navy” Specialty Plate Voucher in person, bring:

• Payment for the voucher and applicable fees
• The name of the person who will be the voucher recipient

You do not need to have a vehicle registered in your name to purchase the voucher. A vehicle registered in the voucher holder's name is only required when the voucher is redeemed for the specialty plate.

Step 3

Pay the applicable fees

When you purchase the voucher, you will pay the specialty plate fee along with the applicable processing, service, and branch fees.

Step 4

Keep Your Voucher

Your voucher will print on plain paper and does not expire. Keep it in a safe place until the new plate is available for redemption.

Step 5

Redeem your voucher once the plate is available

Once the 3,000-plate pre-sale requirement has been met and the new plates are available, you can take your voucher to a Tax Collector’s office to redeem it. At that time, you must have a vehicle registered in your name.

Step 1

Log In to MyDMV

Visit the Florida MyDMV Portal and sign in or create an account. From the Motor Vehicle menu, select Specialty Plate Voucher.

Step 2

Select Your Voucher

Choose whether the voucher is for yourself, another individual, or a business. Enter the requested information, select the “Go Army, Beat Navy” specialty license plate, and add the voucher to your cart.

Step 3

Complete Your Purchase

Review your order and follow the prompts to check out. The voucher price includes the specialty plate fee and applicable processing, service, and branch fees. Save your purchase confirmation for your records.

Step 4

Keep Your Voucher

Your voucher will be issued to the specified recipient and can be redeemed once the plate meets the required pre-sale threshold and becomes available. The voucher does not expire, but it can only be used for the specific specialty plate for which it was purchased.

Step 5

Wait for the Specialty Plate to Be Approved

When the plate is available: The voucher holder must have a vehicle registered in their name to redeem the voucher. Any additional applicable fees are charged when the specialty plate is issued.
