Are Eviction Filings Increasing Because of COVID-19?

As many still feel the stress of housing insecurities, Bay News 9 reached out to Tom DiFiore, the firm's housing unit managing attorney, to get his perspective on the current state of eviction filings in Hillsborough County. The Governor’s moratorium remains to be the center of attention as landlords continue to file evictions.

On average, in Hillsborough County any way, there are about 800 to 1000 evictions every month normally [...] So I would imagine, because of the backlog there would be 600 or 700 on top of that each month as we go along. That's what's waiting."
