Bay Area Legal and Zephyrhills VA Launch Medical-Legal Partnership
Partnership expands access to justice for Pasco County veterans.
Bay Area Legal Services has launched its newest Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) with the Zephyrhills VA, opening new doors to legal help for veterans in Pasco County. Nearly 50,000 veterans and their families call the county home, many of them low-income and facing legal challenges that affect their health, housing, and stability.
This is the latest expansion following Bay Area Legal's VA-MLP clinic in New Port Richey in 2023, and reflects a growing effort to meet veterans where they are.
The launch was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Zephyrhills City Hall. Florida Senator Danny Burgess spoke about the importance of providing veterans across the state with meaningful access to legal support.
Zephyrhills Mayor Melonie Bahr Monson, Bob Hatfield of Rep. Gus Bilirakis' staff, veteran advocates, and other officials joined in marking the occasion. Local veteran Joseph Theriot shared his perspective on how the program will benefit the Zephyrhills veteran community.
With this launch, Bay Area Legal is expanding services to more veterans in Pasco County and addressing a critical need in Zephyrhills.
