Downtown Tampa

The Legal Information Center is Bay Area Legal Services’ family law self-help program. The Center is located in the George Edgecomb Courthouse in downtown Tampa. The Center’s staff attorney provides free information and guidance about available forms and the legal process so self-represented litigants can make informed decisions about their cases. Funding for this program is provided by TECO Energy and the law firms of Holland & Knight and Carlton Fields.

Plant City

The Plant City Legal Information Center is sponsored by Bay Area Legal Services in conjunction with the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of Hillsborough County.

Services provided:
Family law cases including divorce and equitable distribution, paternity, timesharing, parental responsibility, custody, child support, alimony, name change cases, and domestic violence cases. NOTE: In domestic violence matters, the information is provided only to Petitioners.

A licensed attorney can provide information as to application forms and the legal process, enabling parties to make informed decisions.

Matters must be within the jurisdiction of Hillsborough County, Florida.

Services not provided:
Guardianship, probate, foreclosures, criminal cases, advance directives, wills, traffic matters, and any appeals.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Tuesday, excluding holidays
