The Prosperity Center is a walk-in resource center for the Sligh community.
The Prosperity Center is available to the Sligh Magnet Middle School, Foster Academy, Woodson, and James Elementary school communities and families. The goal is to help alleviate poverty, create opportunity, and establish stability so families can thrive at home and kiddos can thrive in school.
Bay Area Legal Services is proud to be one of many nonprofit agencies providing services and resources to the community out of the Prosperity Center.
At the Prosperity Center, Bay Area Legal Services will provide:
Free, open legal intakes. Bay Area Legal Services’ attorneys will be on-site the first Tuesday of each month from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. for free legal intakes. No appointment needed. Walk-ins will be screened and, if they qualify for services, will meet with an attorney right away.
Free, open legal education trainings. Bay Area Legal Services’ attorneys will be on-site teaching monthly legal education trainings on various legal topics. These monthly legal education trainings will include information about the law and your rights, a chance for questions and answers, and an opportunity to meet with a lawyer one-on-one.
The Prosperity Center is part of the Inspire Hope Initiative at Metropolitan Ministries and is generously sponsored by the Bullard Family Foundation.
