WWE Superstar Titus O'Neil Hosts Virtual Launch Supporting Equal Access to Justice

Thaddeus Bullard teams up with local lawyers to support nonprofit, Bay Area Legal Services.

Tampa, FL — Tampa’s own Thaddeus Bullard (aka WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil) is joining forces with local nonprofit law firm, Bay Area Legal Services, to fight injustices affecting the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Bullard will be hosting Bay Area Legal’s fundraising event Thursday, January 14th at 5:30 p.m. to launch the new campaign: “Justice Works!” The Bullard Family Foundation is doing a 1:1 match during this campaign up to $25,000. He will be joined by a virtual audience of legal professionals and others with a passion for equal access to justice.

 “Many people in our communities cannot afford a lawyer to protect them from injustices or to help with basic legal needs,” Bullard said. “Supporting legal aid helps to level out the playing field for people facing issues like abuse, fraud, eviction, and more.”

Legal Aid has gained attention amidst the pandemic as the primary solution to preventing major financial hardships from plaguing the community—from homelessness to domestic violence to loss of income.

Nonprofit law firms like Bay Area Legal provide a wide range of legal aid including helping survivors of domestic violence file for divorce and legal protections from their abusers; fighting unlawful and unnecessary evictions of struggling families; providing a voice for children in the foster care system; protecting isolated seniors from abuse and exploitation; and defending the rights of other community groups in need.

Bullard is well known in Tampa Bay and in the national sports community for his many philanthropic efforts to shine a light on those in need. Through his Bullard Family Foundation, he’s transforming Sligh Middle Magnet School and the surrounding area into an innovative education and community hub to create lasting generational change. The Foundation will offer free legal aid through Bay Area Legal at its Prosperity Center located on the Sligh Middle Magnet School campus.

He has partnered with Bay Area Legal Services to bring this lasting change in the form of equal access to justice and invites you to do the same.
