Bay Area Legal Services (Tampa, FL) is seeking to fill a temporary, full-time Digital Project Manager position available to work remotely in Florida.

The Digital Project Manager will spend their time on a grant-funded project focused on empowering youth in foster care of their legal rights through the creation of a website, app, and various multimedia. The project is based on the Know Your Rights Guide, a legal information guide for teenagers in foster care.

In this newly created position, the Digital Project Manager role is equal parts project management and digital strategy, responsible for leading several digital projects from conception to completion and leading digital marketing strategies to reach its target audience. Ideal candidates for this position are innovative, web, and multimedia savvy who can drive effective digital projects and campaigns.

NOTE: This is a grant-funded position with the term of employment to end after 12-months or no later than October 31, 2023.

Office Location

Florida Remote
The position is not required to work at any Bay Area Legal office location, but is required to be a Florida resident.

Illustrative Duties

Project Management

  • Provide end-to-end project management for assigned projects
  • Scope project requirements and prepare budgets
  • Develop a detailed project plan and monitor progress
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design, develop and implement digital projects
  • Source and engage project vendors (draft RFPs, vendor management, contracts, etc.)
  • Liaising with relevant users, stakeholders, writers, vendors, and consultants for the duration of the project
  • Deliver projects on time ensuring quality standards are met
  • Develop support documentation and requirement specifications

Digital Strategy

  • Lead digital marketing strategies (SEO, social media, paid ads, content development, user research, etc.)
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to understand the audience, address the right problem, and implement solutions
  • Manage and maintain digital assets (web, app, videos, content, etc.)
  • Assist the creation of guided interviews to generate legal documents and forms for external users
  • Enforce content quality standards and oversee content governance process
  • Engage with relevant, users, stakeholders, writers, vendors, and consultants for the duration of the project
  • Establish metrics and standard reports for performance and evaluation

General

  • Network and build relationships with others in the legal profession, especially in legal aid and access to justice, to collaborate on solutions to major issues
  • Keep current on digital and legal technology
  • Keep current on advancements in legal services programs and organizations, internally and externally.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree – Business Administration, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Project Management, or related.
  • 2-3 years proven working experience in a project management role (does not have to be full-time)
  • 2-3 years proven working experience in a digital strategist or similar role (does not have to be full-time)
  • Proficient and proven experience with:
    • Project management principles and digital marketing strategies
    • Leading multiple projects and teams
    • Content management systems’ Drupal and/or WordPress, or similar CMS
    • Web design principles and best practices
    • Lead generation, digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and SEO best practices
    • Publishing digital content
    • User research methods and conducting user research (i.e., interviews, surveys, usability testing, etc.)
    • Analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, organization, and time management skills
    • Building effective partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders
    • Organizational skills, prioritization skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
    • Written and verbal communication skills
    • Confidently interface with all levels of staff including executives, managers and staff; in addition to board members, contractors, volunteers, and other outside parties.
  • Basic experience/working knowledge of:
    • Implementing SEO best practices
    • Google search tools (i.e., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads, etc.)
    • Digital marketing tools (i.e., Ahrefs, Moz, Semrush, etc.)
    • Design software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Figma, Sketch, or similar tools
    • Ability to address accessibility and compatibility issues
    • HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team
  • Desire to work with and understand vulnerable populations accessing civil legal aid services
  • Ability to work virtually with a diverse group of people and stakeholders in multiple locations
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products, video conferencing, and related technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years proven working experience in a project management role
  • 3-5 years proven working experience in a digital strategist or similar role
  • Proficient and proven experience with:
    • Digital marketing tools and analytics
    • UX/design principles
    • Design software
  • Experience working in a nonprofit organization, child welfare organization, or law firm.

Preferred Education/Certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)®, or similar project management certification
  • Digital Marketing certification
