Does Medicare cover all of my medical expenses?
Medicare covers 80% of approved expenses, after you meet an annual deductible.
When you sign up for Medicare, you will have options on the amount you pay:
- You pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount after you meet the annual deductible
- You can buy supplemental insurance to pay for the 20% out-of-pocket cost and the deductible, or you may qualify for Medicaid to pay for the 20% and the deductible
- You may not have any out-of-pocket expense if you join a Medicare Advantage Plan
