Bay Area Legal Attorney for Kids in Foster Care Named NACC State Coordinator in Florida
Taylor Sartor, L. David Shear Children's Law Center of Bay Area Legal Services senior staff attorney and FosterPower creator and legal director, was selected for the National Association of Counsel for Children (NACC) State Coordinator position in Florida.
NACC State Coordinators help lead outreach efforts and provide localized support to growing networks of practitioners in their respective states. Their role is vital to NACC's strategic plan and community-building strategy. NACC has 39 State Coordinators and anticipates adding 10-12 new coordinators in 2024.
Taylor will act as a liaison between NACC and child welfare practitioners, courts, organizations, and law schools and help grow the community of NACC members and child welfare law specialists. She will serve a two-year term as NACC State Coordinator.
NACC State Coordinators are required to have at least 2-3 years experience as a dependency attorney (representing children, parents, agencies, kin, or tribes), judicial officer, law school professor, or policy advocate with practice experience. Coordinators must also be committed to race equity, diversity, and inclusion in the practice of child welfare law and amplifying the voices of youth and parents with lived experience.
